Whew. So, whenever things start to slip, this is what puts me back on track. Basically, I've been suffering from a little of the old "cobbler with broken shoes" syndrome. As always, I have maintained at my weight of just over 200, so I'm not as concerned about health or other aspects. However, the team I am a part of has made a strong commitment to growing our business in the coming year. Part of that means discipline and massive action. I like focusing on the fitness side, because when I start to gain more control over my physique by lowering my body fat, I also find that the discipline moves into other areas of my life and helps me move forward with my business, etc.
So, I'm starting a 5-day cleanse today. So far, so great. The cleanse is loaded with fiber, protein, and healthy fats, so it is not like an extreme fasting or other process. It is less to magically "detoxify" and certainly isn't going to create an enormous amount of fat loss, but what it does do is puts me on some of the lowest glycemic meals possible for 5 days, which in turn levels my blood sugar and serves to break me out of a cycle of cravings that I get into if I've eaten foods that aren't as balanced as I would normally like.
I'll keep everyone posted. I actually bought an extra box of bars and healthy fats for my cleanse, because it is not about being hungry, so if I find myself hungry, I simply add more healthy fat to the shake and/or grab an extra bar.
So what's it like? Here's a daily breakdown based on my first two days:
Calories: 1555
Fat: 64g (13g saturated) 35% of total calories
Sodium: 1330mg per Potassium: 1880mg
Carbohydrate: 164g (35g fiber, 108g sugar) 40% of total calories
Protein: 102g 25% of total calories
