... this is the best part of a juice fast.
Once the detox is over and the body adjusts, suddenly there seems to be unlimited energy and amazing clarity. I can pick up scents from a mile away and even feel that I can see more clearly. It's an amazing state to be in!
Of course, what makes it go away? Eating foods that are allergens, or that are not properly assimilated, or that contain toxins. I've been giving a lot of thought during this time as to how I want my nutrition to unfold, and I'm really leaning towards a mainly raw diet (I will still eat meat - we've got 1/2 of a buffalo in our freezer, after all) but starting the day with fruit, using a lot of raw vegetables and salads, then having a few cooked meals. It's starches that really get me - the cravings for hard, crunchy, salty chips kick in once I have the first bread or potatoes or what not, so I'm planning on replacing those with nuts and veggies instead.
We'll see how it unfolds. I plan to do raw on Sunday and perhaps a few days before introducing a cooked dinner, but will have that with a large side salad and go from there.
On other notes, not much to report - it's late and time to sleep. I had a great time with my daughter and wife tonight (son plays basketball and then is out and about, so I don't see him as much!).
Blessed be,
