I'm feeling much better today. Almost no detox. Just a dull headache that tells me when it's time to have more juice. I was amazed at how, after so many thwarted attempts over the past year or so, this time I really was able to follow through. It's the difference between talking and doing and having a firm commitment and belief. I've toyed with this notion before, but just haven't made the decision where it counts - deep inside - as I coach my clients to.
So, when my wife and I said, it shall be done - so it has.
I'm about ready to catch some sleep but was excited to share on my blog that I now have my own animated character. Okay, so probably only me, with my IT "geek" background, am excited about this. Anyway, audio gives me a chance to bring my voice and passion to the page, and this animation is a way to delivering it with more impact. I have *no clue* if this will change how people connect with me, if it will increase (or even perhaps decrease) sales, or what will come out of it, but I am putting it there for a bit to see what type of feedback I receive.
You can see the animation and hear me speak on these pages ...

Of course, there are many other applications for this, like on a "tour" or tutorial, etc, so the possibilities are endless ... however, these are pages that I track statistics so I can see if there is a positive or a negative response, and then go from there. Of course, if you are reading this, you are welcome to take a look and let me know your thoughts as well - it's always appreciated!
I spoke with a few people today about my network marketing business as well as some coaching clients (and soon-to-be coaching clients). I worked on my book and generated a few additional pages. I was dying to change some things on my site (which I did, by inserting the animation) but decided I should hold off because the mentor team from Corey Rudl's program will have plenty of tweaks and changes to send my way.
We went on a walk today with the dogs. My wife was home early to use the laptop at home (limited computers in the office) so we headed to the trail. Unfortunately, this heat wave has resulted in a snow thaw that left the trail nothing but a strip of mud. We let the dogs stomp and do their thing and then promptly found ourselves wiping "puppy paws" so they could be allowed back in the house. It was a beautiful day otherwise, and we were happy to get outside.
My daughter was excited to share her news with her friends at preschool. She has been admitted to a private school, actually a home-school academy, called the Christian Faith Academy. The testing placed her at a 2nd grade level. That is really arbitrary in this classroom, however, as there are kids of all ages (a small group) and they are paced based on their skills. For example, she might be doing 2nd grade science and 1st grade math and 1st grade writing depending on her skills in those areas. Class is 4 days out of the week, so she gets a long weekend so Fridays will be our special day to spend time. On one hand, it is exciting to have her start this structured class (she is very excited) on the other, I'll miss the time we spend together during the day (her preschool was just 3 half-days). I look forward to walking down and joining her for lunch on a few days and walking her home on days that the weather is no inclimate (the school is on main street, which is just down the hillside from us).
Not much else to report - probably a lot more going on but I just have a bit of fog in my head, so I'll sign off now and we'll talk in a bit!
Oh, before I go, one more item ...
As part of the Christian Music Makeover, the label sent me a copy of the newly published book called "The Total Temple Makeover." You can visit the Makeover link to find it. I always crack open new weight loss books with a healthy dose of skepticism (ironic, albeit that I am an author myself in that genre) and wonder, what's the angle for this one? No carbs after 3pm? All sugar is evil?
I was pleasantly surprised.
No, wait, I take that back. Blown away.
This is an AWESOME BOOK. I won't have the space to give it a proper review here, but I love it. Just what people need - a warm, from the heart, not overly complicated approach that focuses on the individual. It is founded in faith and relates how Christians can draw upon their faith to gather the courage to succeed at losing weight. This book is very up to date - he is aware of the glycemic load and not just the glycemic index, shares information about healthy fats and promotes exercise. I read the whole thing cover to cover in about 2 1/2 days, I was so excited. More powerful than the weight loss information was the information on how to grow in faith and share this with others. About the only nag I had was that avocados and dates were on his "avoid" list. Avocados IMHO are one of the most nutritious, power-packed meals you can have and dates are just an awesome alternative for sugar cravings. Aside from that, a solid read - highly recommended to anyone interested.
On that note ...
Goodnight!
Blessed be,
