How is it going?
I'm doing great, thanks for asking.
It's been a busy week.
I managed to launch my newsletter. As I was editing it, I realized that this was a very special edition ... my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY ISSUE! How cool is that? I thought ... "Neat." So I decided to go the "extra mile" and give the newsletter a long-overdue overhaul. Eventually, I will hire a graphics design person for this, but for now, I focused on function and flow. I made it cleaner, easier to navigate, and less busy. I'm happy with the result and already received positive feedback. If you haven't read this e-Zine, then visit it here.
I also launched the outsourcing of my affiliate program, and am watching that slowly ramp up to see how it goes. It will take some time as they learn my business and who to target to create win-win situations, but I'm confident we'll get there.
Now I have two other areas to target. I would like to spend more time writing articles than finding articles to publish, so I will be hiring someone to manage the articles and e-Zine soon. They will operate as an independent contractor and will be paid per article to find quality articles, get permission to republish them, find out if there are any tie-ins to other areas of the site and/or products, then integrate the article into the site. They will also pick the best articles in the various categories to publish as exclusives for the e-Zine. The second area is someone to call subscribers, visitors, and clients. I made it a goal to not only respond to every e-mail, but also to call every customer who is kind enough to leave a number. I had no clue how many people would do so! I have about 200 phone calls to make and the list is growing ... so this will be a great asset. I think it's important to connect and learn what people are seeking and how we can better assist them, and to receive feedback. I also like to thank everyone who purchases a product and don't want to slip on that ... so I have some phone calls set to make tomorrow!
This coming week will be a bit of transformation and relaxation. My wife and I are both flying to seminar while my parents come up to stay at the house with the children and pets. Our first day will be a little bit "on the town" as they say. We booked a very nice suite at a hotel in LA and some special "transporation service" to this from the airport. The hotel has a complimentary Mercedes Benz we can borrow to take to Rodeo Drive where I can look for a new watch, since my Movado is now missing. My wife deserves something in a blue box. We have really worked hard - we focus on the positive in life, so most people are not aware of the challenges we've faced, because it would not serve a purpose focusing on those (you get what you expect). So, we've continue to focus on the positive and have moved through those challenges. We are far from the goals we set for ourselves, but also recognize when we've put in the effort and it is time to reward ourselves with some rest and relaxation. That will be Wednesday.
Thursday begins the three day seminar that changes lives. I cannot wait. It will be with a group of entrepreneurs from around the country who have had the courage to do what others call risky or different. They had the courage to give up the illusion of freedom when people are really only a few paychecks away from broke, and instead take on the awesome responsibility for getting paid what the free market will bear based on their personal value. It can be stressful and unpredictable, but it is also true freedom ... to go where you want, do what you what, with who you want. Some people shy away from that concept - they have issues weighing themselves down and feel they don't deserve it or people who pursue this are greedy and selfish. What they don't realize is that many of those people have dreams bigger than who they are, and their aspirations are not to sit on a pile of gold and drink from a silver goblet, but instead of create massive projects to change the world. I think of the donations we make to the Children's Hunger Fund which has received MILLIONS of dollars just from the network marketing company I am a part of, and how that has changed their lives. I can't imagine how much more of a difference I will be able to make as I grow in abundance and follow Jim Rohn's philosophy of prosperity - not greed or wealth, but producing more than what we need so that we can give out of our abundance.
I have certain dreams and goals that I do not publish because I know sometimes our ego can become mixed in our charitable notions ... it is often too tempting to brag, "I did this and this" and suddenly the action loses its magic because it was no longer a gift from the heart, but was simply an action to collect merits or badges to wear and masquerade. Unfortunately, sometimes being anonymous is more than others can handle, so they make assumptions and attack based on their lack of understanding or out of ignorance. That is unfortunate, what is fortunate is that when one truly believes in God, then there is no need for the pride of being right or proving someone else right or wrong or sharing some of those smaller deeds ... there is only being and doing and knowing that judgement will one day come.
I can say this. When I first ventured out into free enterprise with insecurity, I attracted and got what I expected. I expected people to be jealous, and received many threats from those who were jealous. I expected people to dislike me, and I received those comments. I was defensive and as the result seemed desperate and on the attack.
This second time that I did this, I committed to a point of no return because my vision became larger than me. I focused on the dream ... to quote the president of my network marketing company,
"I dream of a world free from pain and suffering. I dream of a world free from disease. The ... family will be the healthiest family on earth. Share my vision. Love life and live it to its fullest in happiness and health."

How can I not be inspired every time I read that? That is powerful, and it is larger than life. He could have retired long ago, he could have hoarded his money, but he writes personal donations for hundreds of thousands of dollars that change lives — in fact, he is building a hospital in Africa in a community that could save hundreds, even thousands of lives. Now that is a powerful force for change that can only be accomplished through success ... and this is why I am able to move consistently towards my dream of success, because I know of the things I can do. I can stop dreaming about making a difference, and get out there and do it.
I am very excited and inspired tonight. I feel that 2005 is the year that the most phenomenal changes in my life will occur. I feel a season of change right now. Beyond the relaxation and the short period of "vacation" we experience this coming weekend, the seminar will be a powerful connection and then beyond that, projects and dreams and goals will manifest.
Sometimes people are offended when I send out offers to my list, like my personal coach, mentor, and friend Mike Litman's awesome offer that his brother told me about today. Some simply unsubscribe, but a few find it necessary to write and tell me how it is a cheap scam and berate me for stuffing their inbox with worthless "spam." What they don't realize is that for every person who writes to share that, there are five more who approach these opportunities with an open mind and receive them ... and then write me weeks later to say, "Thank you for opening my eyes ... that product created incredible change in my life and now I am more focused and my vision is more clear than ever."
Of course, it's easy to listen to motivational CDs or read books and get excited about change. It's quite another thing to take action and do something about it. For example, for every 10 or 20 people that I share my incredible business opportunity with, many simply aren't interested, which is fine. It's not for everyone. But even more really want to change, but are too scared. Society has paralyzed them into non-action. They are so buried in their comfort zone that the thought of doing something different makes them recoil in horror ... even though they may realize that for things to change, what they are doing and who they are must also change. Then, there are the one or two who are ready, willing, and have an open mind. To see their lives change when they experience the freedom - how $100 that you earn on your own feels more valuable than $1000 earned for pay working for someone else's vision - now THAT is worth 19 people who are indifferent, not looking, scared, or sometimes even downright belligerent.
I'm not sharing this to recruit you onto my team. I'm sharing it to shake you up, get those gears turning, flip the hourglass in your head so you can see possibilities. Maybe you have a passion for art, but never felt you could make it. Maybe deep in your heart, you deserve to be a singer but suppress your beautiful voice. Perhaps you love computers and have a high-paying computer job but in the back of your mind always dreamed that you could start your own software firm.
There can't be a ship with only captains. Ten people may dream the same dream, but nine of those will say, "I don't have what it takes" or "That can't happen for me" or "I can't." They then turn to the one who did and say, "Lucky."
Few realize the truth is that all ten have the same potential, the same skills, the same qualities and talents that can be developed. But that one? Call them lucky if you like. That's fine. They don't mind, because they know the truth. It's not luck. It's HEART. That person had the heart to say ... "I may not have what it takes, but I can develop or find it." ... or ... "It might not happen for me at first, but I'll keep trying until it does ... " ... or, simply ... "I can."
I can.
I started with that thought. I can.
Then, it took some time, some faith, and a lot of heart to make it into ...
I will.
I will.
I can. I will.
I am.
Maybe our government has it right, with their slogan to pull willing recruits into serving the country: be ALL that you can be.
My favorite slogan from fine living TV ... "live life like you mean it."
And a new one ... I bought an awesome book called the Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T Harv Ecker. As part of the deal, I received a free coaching call from a company called LIVE OUT LOUD.
Folks, believe it. I will continue to live my life OUT LOUD. And anyone who is willing to listen, learn, and come along for the ride ... is more than welcome.
Blessed be,
Jeremy Likness
