Repost from BodyBlog

Well, it had been a long time since I visited my friends at BodyBlog.com, so I poked my head in and made a post ... here it is:

Hello!

It's been some time, but I do occassionally stick my head in and read the posts. It's awesome to see the community growing and thriving. Ron, thanks for the kind words — I sincerely appreciate you! Drop me a line sometime, would love to reconnect and find out what has happened along your journey.

This year is quite the year! I knew it would be the most abundant one so far, because my wife and I have really been focused on the positive. We've been working with successful coaches like Mike Litman and Jeffrey Combs to help us get out of our own way to really pursue our passion and vision. It is amazing how incredible life can be when you learn you truly get what you expect ... so when you focus on the positive and expect the best, this is what you will receive. I see many people locked into a cycle ... they feel weight loss is something to force, i.e. drop pounds, instead of realizing it is really about releasing the thoughts of self-sabotage that put the weight on in the first place. When you choose to live life by design, you can conquer those obstacles and overcome those "victim cards."

This year I was selected as the trainer for the Christian band, Daniel's Window for their Christian Music Makeover. It is a great group of people and it was exciting to put together some plans for several people at once, knowing they would be on the road and face challenges like having to stop at restaurants, etc. They are going to be on Total Living with Jerry Rose so I am flying out to Chicago in the beginning of April to shoot some "b-roll" demonstrating exercises, etc.

I also had my 5-CD set that I mentioned in my previous post re-mastered - we hired a professional voice over and had some music to fade in/out and redesigned the packaging to be a 5-tray set. That is also exciting because I was contacted by a TV-based retail network who is considering this set to sell on their show ... it's in the preliminary phases right now, they are reviewing the content and will get back to me.

I'm finalizing the editing of my e-Book - the page here is actually outdated, I changed the name to Lose Fat, Not Faith and updated the cover. I'm finished the second-to-last past before the final proof, and then will be sending out my query letters to find a publisher for print. I believe we have a solid case as it has sold in several countries already.

My daughter is having a great time with her tutoring program. Since my wife and I made the choice to work from home, we had the flexibility of deciding to home school our daughter. We ended up doing a compromise - she goes to a tutor program 4 days out of the week and it's like school except that it is individually paced. It is a small class - six students total, with Alyssa as the youngest at 5 years old and the oldest being about 12 I believe. Alyssa just finished her kindergarten math and is now working on 1st grade math, and is at a 2nd grade reading, science, and history level. We're excited to be able to pace her based on her skills and not have to hold her to a common denominator. This also gives us the flexibility to take her to piano lessons, dance, and gymnastics. She wants to drop dance, then add martial arts and swimming. We are pacing her and don't want her to get too overloaded or overwhelmed.

Now that my son's basketball season is over, Gordon is actively looking for a job. He has a lot of obligations. He pays his own car insurance and gas, and has his own checking account. We want him to be prepared when he ventures out on his own.

I don't know if I mentioned this, but my daughter actually has her own blog up at CountryCowgirlRodeo.com. She came up with the idea and I set it up. When she wants updates, she sits in my lap and types her updates and asks me if there are words she doesn't know how to spell. I've found that I only have to spell them out once or twice and she has them memorized. Of course, Daddy helps with uploading the pictures. My own blog is updated fairly consistently (I may miss a day here or there) at BlogSpot. One of the reasons I don't post here often is because when I do have the time, I post over there and never enjoyed doing duplicate posts all over the place.

My wife and I are headed out to Los Angeles the end of next week for a three-day seminar. Our network marketing business is really exploding, and this is part II of a series that profoundly changed my life. We each went to part I separately, and it impacted us in different ways. She obtained her real estate license and is doing great. We set a goal to own several properties within a few years - we've already had a few and it has been nothing but a blessing to receive the passive income and then cash out when they appreciate. It's definitely a great industry to be a part of. We are looking forward to Los Angeles — especially for the opportunity to spend more time with Ed Orlowski. He is an incredible member of the team and I'm excited to work with him and set some great goals to achieve this year. My daughter is very excited — she wants to go to our international convention in Salt Lake City this year (September) so we went ahead and booked her. There are thousands of associates who go, many of them stay-at-home parents like ourselves, who get to bring their children with them on their travels because of the flexibility of working from home. She'll make a lot of mini-entrepreneur friends there!

When the snow thawed here in the beautiful Black Hills, the retaining wall collapsed in one corner, so we have a company coming out to replace it. It used to be concrete, now we're going to use stacked stone. I can't wait until it's finished, because I've seen this company's work and they do a great job - I'll be sure to post some pictures.

We are going to spend about a month in Florida this summer. My parents live on the West Coast (St. Petersburg) and Doreen's parents live on the East Coast. We will probably fly into Ft. Lauderdale, have my in-laws watch the children and spend a romantic weekend, then after two weeks with them, go to the other coast and stay with my parents. I'm looking forward to it. We also have a trip planned to Colorado with one of those resorts where the ski slope is right there. I have never been skiing in Colorado, but after this season on the slopes here, I can't wait.

I'm trying to think of what other updates to share. We've just been blessed with spending time together, living a healthy lifestyle, and not having the stress of a commute or having to report to a boss. Time freedom is really priceless, because although I spent quite some time where my income was not what it was when I was a Director of IT, the time I got to share with my daughter and my wife is something I just never imagined.

I'm in the midst of doing several deals with the business. My ultimate dream and passion is to speak. I already have my weekly health and fitness podcast, which is something that I look forward to every week. In addition, I want to travel and speak at seminars. So, I'm building my network marketing business because that is the most leveraged income I have - one of the few business models where you can put in a tremendous effort up front, then receive residual rewards on the back end. I'm also taking Natural Physiques and building systems into it. I just outsourced my affiliate management and will be outsourcing other areas as well. This way, those streams of income can remain fairly self-sufficient and give me the time freedom to go out on the road and not DEPEND on my seminars as a source of revenue, but be able to host them and plug into the passion I have to share the vision of health, wellness, and freedom with others.

Wow - this was long-winded but it has been a while. I appreciate all of you and how powerful and supportive this community is. Keep up the great work and I'll quote you the little plaque I have sitting on my desk ...

When the Legends Die, the Dreams End, when the Dreams End, there is no More Greatness ... so never give up on your dreams!

... and what I read each time that I take a drink of coffee with a special mug Nicole E. sent me:

Go Confidently in the Direction of your Dreams. LIVE THE LIFE YOU IMAGINED.

And, of course, my new favorite from the Fine Living Network ...

LIVE LIFE LIKE YOU MEAN IT!

Blessed be,

Jeremy Likness
