Wouldn't it be great if motivation was a commodity that you could stock up on?
The only difference between the person that gets up off the couch and the person that stays sitting is motivation.
The Blame Game
Sometimes I wonder if we can blame our personality. Some people are wired in such a way that they just "get things done" - including daily exercise. In reality - I don't think we can blame anything.
Set a Goal
Set a goal and contemplate on it. Surround yourself with people who share common goals. Go to websites where you will be motivated to do better.
Since I've started doing (more like attempting) CrossFit - I never fail to be inspired by those who are dedicated, consistent, and just downright fit.
It makes me want to get up out of my chair and do better.

I get myself gifts for working out.
I got myself weights, books, DVDS, make up, baking pans. I can't give myself food though.

A lot of it has to do with the thoughts you have in your head, and how they affect your life. Take a look at a book called "The T.A.D. Principle" - it is a great resource for improving your thoughts which in turn will help your motivation and life in general.

After I lost 50 lbs, I found out this motivation tip that I called Turkey Walk. Have been staying fit for over 10 years.
To do the Turkey Walk, just go to a supermarket and get a shopping basket. Load a 15-pound turkey in the basket and walk with it for 5 mins. Then, put the bird back and feel instantly how GREAT it is to lose 15 lbs.
Instant gratification is one of the biggest enemies in weight loss. This turkey walk uses instant gratification as a motivator. Works for me. More available at my blog.
