Should I change my exercises every 4 weeks?

If it's not broke, no need to fix it. Generic recommendations like 4-6 or 6-8 weeks are fine, but it is even better to get away from generic and focus on you.

If you are...
  1. No longer experiencing gains, or
  2. Getting tired of the routine
Then change it.

I've had routines I hated, and I switched them after only 1 week. How am I going to consistently weight train if I don't enjoy it? Other routines that I liked and received results from, I've used as long as 12 - 16 weeks.
