What's the best cardio for preparing for a competition or photo shoot?

When prepping for a photo shoot, I use the DietPower software to budget my calories. I know what weight I need to reach to be in photo shape.

Then, if my calorie budget goes low, I make it higher by adding cardio. For me, this would be primarily walking at 3 - 4 mph on the treadmill at a maximum incline. Burns a ton of calories without being too high impact and it keeps me fresh for my workouts (i.e. I don't get as worn out as HIIT or running).
