Why do so many people have a goal of reaching 8% body fat?

Typically, single digits body fat is when males begin to see their abs - at or below 10% body fat, so 8% guarantees you'll hit it.

From my experience, getting from 10% to 8% is harder than getting from 20% to 10%, and getting from 8% to 7% was the hardest thing I've done in my life.
