![]() | #1 Lose Fat, Not Faith We're certainly excited that this one made it to the top ... our very own book about total physique transformation outsold everything else by a landslide. However, it's not just due to our own marketing ... users who have reviewed this book give it an average rating of 5 stars! (Click here to read testimonials). |
![]() | #2 Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements Lyle MacWilliams had a brilliant idea. He had several of the nation's top doctors known for their nutrition knowledge share what they believe is the optimal amount of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that should be supplied by a multivitamin. He then used this to create a "blended standard" and rated the products against this standard. This is one of the reasons I chose this company as the company I would purchase the vitamins for my family from ... and liked it so much, I became a reseller. |
![]() | #3 How Consciousness Commands Matter I've long believed that true transformation is about more than just calories and workout routines. Anyone I know that has experienced tremendous success says that the process began on the inside. If there is anything I've learned, it's that true change starts within. This book makes some powerful connections between the mind and reality ... and was very popular with our visitors. |
![]() | #4 The Attractor Factor I attracted this book right into my own reality. It was originally released as Spiritual Marketing and was one of the first books I read in November of 2003 when I decided to become a full-time entrepreneur (a reality that took another 6 months to create). While I had created a business in the past, this time I wanted to be a student and find the right coaches. Author Joe Vitale was and is one of my most influential mentors. In an interesting twist of fate, the student became the coach when Joe himself hired me to assist him on his journey to drop dozens of pounds from the mid-200s down to 189. This book will transform your life, if you are ready and have an open mind. It is a big hit with our visitors and sometimes is offered as a discount through Amazon when you buy it in addition to Lose Fat, Not Faith. |
![]() | #5 The Fat Burning Diet Years before the current low-carb trends hit the market, Jay Robb released a little book that made big waves in the bodybuilding world. Talk to people on the street and they may or may not have heard of The Fat Burning Diet, but go backstage at any natural bodybuilding event and you just might see it sticking out of the zippered side pockets of several duffel bags. This book offers a solution that may seem strict to some but provides incredible results for many. It's definitely a must-have in anyone's nutrition library. |

![]() | #1 Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle This is the #1 selling fitness e-Book, and for a good reason. No other product on our site sells as consistently as this book. I purchased this book for myself and highly recommend it. It is loaded with useful, concise information and has transformed thousands of lives. Tom Venuto, the author, is a contributing author and affiliate partner of Natural Physiques™ |
![]() | #2 Fit Over 40 Success Coach Jon Benson co-authored this book with Tom Venuto. When we purchased this, our jaws literally dropped to the floor. There are some amazing transformations in this book. It includes specific nutrition and training information along with powerful motivational material. Definitely a valuable addition to your digital library. |
![]() | #3 Diet Supplements Revealed Author and nutritionist Will Brink is a no-holds-barred author who gives you the straight facts about what's hot and what's not. His eBook has sold thousands of copies worldwide because it shares the truth about supplements. Heck, anyone who gets a "Thank You" note from S.W.A.T. and Special Ops must be doing something right (visit his author's page at our site to read the letter). |
![]() | #4 Self Improvement The title says it all. Author David Riklan offers too many bonuses to keep track of. He's taken the top experts in the self improvement field and compiled their sage advice into one digital tome. |
![]() | #5 Firm and Flatten Your Abs Everybody talks about the abs. What's the best exercise for them? What is "core strength"? How do I get a six-pack? This book doesn't talk, it shows. David has put together a book that dispels the myths about abdominal training. It contains loads of illustrated exercises that demonstrate the correct way to train the most elusive muscle, from beginners to advanced. |

#1 How to Get Ripped with Confidence Over 11,000 viewers makes this our top nutrition article — and for a good reason. Several years ago, I was participating in a charity event. We were lifting weights to benefit the Make-A-Wish® Foundation and former Body-for-LIFE champions Hank "Harry" Johnson, Jr. and Scott Nelson (author of the famed "Abs Bootcamp") were there. Scott was walking around with his laptop and waved me over to show me a software tool he used. I remember how excited both of them were to share it with me. There is a lot of nutrition software available today that will track meals and calories and even log workouts. Nowhere else, however, can you find software that actually learns your metabolism and will dynamically adjust your calories based on your actual progress. That is the power of this software, and our most popular nutrition article is about how to use it to get ripped.
#2 Water Intake: How Much is Enough? I'm not certain if it is the topic or the author that made this article so popular. This article by nutritionist John Berardi, Ph.D. is a very technical and detailed look at how to determine what your water intake should be.
#3 Creatine Creatine is perhaps one of the most used supplements both in and out of professional sports today. It has been around for years and is very well-studied. This article is based on a paper I wrote to receive my certification as a Specialist in Performance Nutrition. It covers everything including the history, benefits, side effects, and uses of creatine.
#4 History of the Ketogenic Diet Author Lyle McDonald follows the history of the ketogenic diet. You might be surprised to learn how low-carb nutrition has been around for decades. Even more interesting is what ketogenic diets and epilepsy have in common.
#5 Tasty Fat Loss and Muscle Gaining Recipes The number five spot goes to the free e-Book that is loaded with low-carb and high-protein recipes for people interested in burning fat and building muscle.
The most popular nutrition question in our FAQ is: How many calories do I need to burn a pound of fat?
#1 Stretching Guide Nearly 30,000 viewers make our online stretching guide the most popular article in the training section. Several years ago, my wife and I took pictures of each other demonstrating various exercises and stretches. I used these to design custom training programs for my first company. Later, I integrated them into a guide called The Training Encyclopedia that I share as a bonus gift when you purchase Lose Fat, Not Faith. The stretches themselves were then released as a poster. I believe stretching is important and often overlooked and made it a priority to make the guide available to anyone interested in adding this to their routine.
#2 Core and Abdominal Training An article I read several years ago changed my entire view of abdominal training. I learned that the core was much more than just the "six-pack muscles" and began to train a new way. This led to a system that I have used over the years to successfully build core strength. Like the stretching guide, this article became very popular because the exercises are fully illustrated and can be printed as a manual.
#3 5 Star Arm Workouts Tom Venuto has been mentioned several times in our "best of" series. Besides lean, rock hard abs, the second most popular muscle is arms! Everyone wants to know the "secret" to great guns, and his article delivers with a routine that is sure to split your sleeves.
#4 Squat Variations The squat is a very popular and powerful movement. It works the muscles of your entire body. It is definitely a foundation exercise that should be integrated into almost any lower body program. The squat is often performed incorrectly, although there are many variations that depend on your skill, experience, goals, genetics, and other factors. This article covers some of these variations and provides a 3-D animation of the mechanics of a squat.
#5 The Power of Kettlebell Training Mike Mahler is one of the top kettlebell trainers in the United States. He is a vegan athlete who has built a thriving training business and conducts seminars across the country. This article is a powerful introduction to a very unique method of strength training.
The most popular training question in our FAQ is: Can I gain muscle doing bodyweight exercises?
Hello again everyone. Another month has gone. The mild fall weather has given way to bitter cold here in Chicagoland. The temperature here has been hovering between 9 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Since my last report I don't really have a lot to say. My Dad is still in the hospital and not doing too well. He has been asking for me so I am planning a quick trip next week to visit with him.
I began exercising only to injure my left knee. I had planned to go to my orthopedic doctor but my business/life coach recommended that I try a chiropractor first. I did. And it helps. Much to my amazement, it really helped. Now I'm not yet ready to run sprints but she has prescribed some exercises specifically to strengthen my knees and my lower back. It seems that she discovered a weakness in my lower back that may be contributing to my pain. I am willing to try most anything if I can avoid the knife.
Cardio exercise and resistance exercise is now limited to riding an exercycle and the isometric exercises the doctor has recommended. My upper body workout is a BFL style workout done twice a week.
Nutrition has been pretty good. I've struggled much but now I am taking steps to keep my nutrition on course for about 80% of the time. That gives me room for 1 off course snack or meal per day. When I am meeting this goal consistently I will increase to 90% and so on until the nutrition plan is second nature. It may sound odd, but this food thing is mostly mental. Right now I feel comfortable with the knowledge that for one meal/snack per day I can eat anything I like. Of course there is some control there as far as portion sizes, but just the thought that I am not a slave to the chicken breast or whatever makes me feel better ... especially during the holidays, when food seems to be everywhere.
Now let us look at my stats from this past month.
| Start | This Month | |
| Weight: | 336 lbs (152 kilos) | 325 lbs |
| Height: | 5'9" (1.75 meters) | 5'9" |
| Chest: | 54 1/8" (137 cm) | 54" |
| Biceps: | 17 5/8" (45 cm) | 17 3/8" |
| Waist: | 52 1/2" (133 cm) | 51 3/4" |
| Abdomen: | 59 3/4" (152 cm) | 58 7/8" |
| Hips: | 52 1/2" (133 cm) | 52 1/8" |
| Thigh: | 31" (79 cm) | 30 1/2" |
| Calf: | 20 3/8" (52 cm) | 20 1/2" |
Note from Jeremy Likness — Ed has had a rough two months, but instead of giving up or using this as an excuse to quit, he is focusing on progress (not perfection). Notice that instead of saying, "I'm perfect or I give up" he instead said, "Okay, we can't be perfect ... so let's go for 80%." That attitude allowed him to successfully shed 11 pounds of fat. It may not be the fastest weight loss on record, but it's still progress in the right direction. If you go to our How Many Pounds? calculator, you'll see that 11 pounds (5 kilograms) is enough energy to brew 107 pots of coffee, light a 60-watt light bulb for 31 days, and is equivalent to walking 3/4 the length of England. Congratulations, Ed! — J.L.
Until next time...
2005 was a powerful year for me. A large part of my success was due to the network marketing company that I joined in 2003. It still amazes me that so many people view network marketing with disbelief, skepticism, and in some cases, outright animosity. The truth is that the right opportunity with the right frame of mind is exactly what most people desire but are afraid to commit to.
I was on the phone with one individual who was very interested in how I achieved my success. He refused to believe it could have anything to do with network marketing. When I asked him why he had such a negative opinion, he began to rattle off a list of names of people who shoved their "business opportunities" in his face. "You people are pushy and don't give up," he tried to tell me.
I've heard people complain about how pushy cars salesmen can be. Yet most of them drive cars. I've heard people complain about soda commercials ... while drinking a glass. In truth, some people use underhanded techniques to run their business. We've all received the spam e-mails loaded with links to find dates, buy pills, or join magic money-making opportunities. Scams have been around for centuries. Network marketing, like any business, has its share of bad apples. However, I've learned in life to focus on what is, rather than wasting too much time on what isn't. I've learned more about success studying those who are successful than I have listening to the complaints of those who have failed.
Another person called to tell me they were going to buy my products until they found out I was with one of "those pyramid companies." I asked him what a pyramid is because I can't seem to find too many people who can give me a definition. His first attempt was to say that it is a business where the person on top makes the most money, and the person at the bottom makes the least. "Oh, so you mean a corporate job?" I replied. I've seen that pyramid thing before: the owner is at the top, then there is a level of vice presidents, then there are senior directors, followed by managers, and so on. You have a lot more competition the farther up you go, and to get to the top means someone has to get pushed off!
"No, no, that's not what I mean. It's a pyramid," he replied, going on to explain that you can never make more money than the person who "brings you in." I really didn't understand that one, either, because I consistently earn more income than my "upline" or the individuals who are above me in my network marketing organization. I don't know exactly what he had in mind, but the company that I joined compensates me for what I put into the business. If I choose to do more than those before me, I earn more. What's really exciting is that I've grown an organization large enough that I can benefit others and me at the same time! I could never do that in the corporate world ... basically; give my employees a raise at the same time I give one to myself. It was always a "fixed budget." I like breaking the rules.
A lot of stores are having sales right now. I doubt too many of you would stroll into the local department store and say, "Look, you are selling this thing I bought a month ago half-off. I want my 50% back right now." I mean, a sale is a sale, and it's understood that it only happens for a limited time. If you missed it, you missed it. On the Internet, people take a different view. It's quite common for people to write and complain about a promotion because they had to buy something full price. I guess because it's "easy" to go online and shop, they believe the rules should be different, too.
Maybe that's why so many people think the rules for network marketing should be different. The rules are different ... with a modest investment of money and major investment of focus and time, you can create true, residual income. Instead of having to find a new job because you're paid what the job is worth, you get paid what you are worth. Want a raise? No more finding the next higher position or trying to "do everything right" for someone else ... instead, you find a way to increase your value on the free market.
I've had people tell me they want to earn $10,000 per month. When I ask them how much they are willing to invest, I get the donut-hole expression (mouth open), "What do you mean? I want something free." Yeah. Try opening a restaurant franchise for free. Try opening your own retail store for free. Franchises cost hundreds of thousands — even millions — to start. There is phenomenal overhead from facilities to supplies and payrolls. Today, you can start a network marketing business for about a thousand dollars. Most likely you'll have no inventory overhead because most companies drop-ship from their distribution center. You won't have to figure out how to program a website because most companies provide one for you. You don't have to deal with payroll and they'll deposit your check right in your bank account. The most appealing thing to me was that I could start it part time and generate a few extra hundred dollars per week while keeping my day job.
Network marketing was my teacher and much of the success from my main business comes from lessons I learned through network marketing. I learned about passive and residual income, how to leverage time and talent, and how to grow a business with zero employees. I have a sales force of hundreds ... yet the only time I pay is when they produce. That is a powerful concept.
If you're one of those people who refused to take a serious look because you heard from a friend of a friend that it was this or that or you think it's just another pyramid-get-rich-quick thing, maybe it's time to think again and take a closer look. Network marketing has transformed thousands of lives. It's definitely not for everyone, and may not be for you. How will you know unless you take a closer look and really understand the industry?
Three books that will help you learn more...
Keep your eyes open in 2006. Some people call it luck, but people who are successful know that luck is simply the intersection of persistence with opportunity. Have a great year!
We did it!
The end of another year. And you are part of who made it possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
The end of the year is the time our family comes together to set goals for the New Year. We did not hit many of our 2005 goals ... yet we had the most successful year to date! How can that be? We learned to set powerful, strong goals. We also learned that goals can change as the situation changes. My goals are truly dreams with a deadline. I used to say, "If only ..." or "I wish I could of ..." but now I say, "Soon." If I don't reach my goal this year, then I'll reach it next year. I have plenty of time!
2006 is about you. What do you deserve to receive from our business? Is it more articles? More tools? Different topics? Do you have suggestions for new products or how to make existing ones better? Your opinion is valuable to us. When people asked why we only offered "Lose Fat, Not Faith" as an e-Book, we took the steps necessary to make it into a paperback. When so many of you asked, "How do I get rid of these stubborn last few pounds?" we conducted four week teleseminar and released it on our Amazing Fat Loss Secrets 4-CD set. When you asked for a more affordable coaching option, we invested in the amazing online personal training solution we have today.
So how can Natural Physiques™ partner with you to make 2006 your most successful year? We'd love to hear from you. That's why we include a feedback form at the bottom of every newsletter. You can fill out the form at the bottom of this page and share your valuable opinion with us. Please take the time to share this with your friends, family, associates, and anyone else who will benefit from quality information about living healthy the natural way. There is a blue button on most pages that makes it quick and convenient to share those pages with a friend. We also have a link in our newsletter to send this site to up to seven of the people you know. These are just a few ways we can work together and overcome the obesity epidemic in 2006 one success story at a time.
There is no better time to begin your transformation than now. Most people wait until the New Year (these same people give up by spring). Those who succeed know the decision begins now, not with the excuse of a holiday around the corner. It may help to listen to last year's New Year, New You? and Goal-Setting.
From all of us here at Natural Physiques™ (that's my wife, our partners and affiliates, and me) have a safe and blessed holiday, and we'll "see" you in 2006!
Blessed be,
