This evening I had the opportunity to interview a very special person. This is someone who I met years ago at the inaugural WishLift event. WishLift has come and gone, but Bill Gobin is still on the map. He founded the Get America Fit Foundation and is helping people across the world live healthier lives.

255 Pound Deadlift (Video) RM (Real) Format

I was having some fun going through my archives. I've been taking pictures and videos for several years now, and always like to see where I came from and where I'm going. I have never been much of a heavy lifter, but I did work up to 300-pound squats and 400-pound dead-lifts. I don't have video of those lifts, which is probably just as well because I can't promise my form was perfect.

I did, however, find this video of me doing a 255-pound deadlift pull. Not a world record but certainly a milestone for me at the time!

Interview with Veteran Bodybuilder Lon Baldridge

Lon is 47 years old and have been Training with weights for over 36 years. He started out with a basic weight set, the workout sheet from the box, and his father's help. Lon designed his first preacher curl bench at 14 years of age. In 1976, he competed in the North Dakota Arm wrestling championship and in 1978 The Detroit Lakes Arm wrestling Championships. From 1979 until 1987, he competed in the following Bodybuilding Competitions: Mr. North Country, Midwest Mr. America, Mr. Saturn, and Mr. South Dakota. He also competed in the Rapid City corporate Cup competitions.

Over the years, Lon has helped people train and became a resource for their training questions. He belongs to Iron on Line Forum and recently received his ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer Certificate. Lon has been fortunate enough to meet bodybuilding legends Dave Draper, Frank Zane, Larry Scott, Bill Pearl, Ed Corney, Dorian Yates and several Champion Bodybuilders. He has also trained with Olympic Weightlifters and champion Power lifters, Dave Draper, and Judo experts.

Rick Almand has been married for 25 years with 2 teenage sons. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering. He was a territory manager for 26 years, working for companies such as Eastman Chemical, Daubert Chemical and Bostik (now Bostik-Findley). Rick changed careers after the age of 50 to become a personal trainer. He earned a certification thru AFAA (at age 52) and thru ACE (at age 53). He earned a certification thru the YMCA last year (at age 55) and achieved a 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (at age 54) and continues training toward his 2nd Degree. His teacher is Grandmaster Hyun You who, among other achievements, was national champion in South Korea. In addition, Rick has been a member of Barrow County Chamber of Commerce (since 2003).

His articles are regularly published in the health section of the Winder Barrow newspaper. He has spoken to various schools/organizations such as Athens Christian School, the Kiwanis Club, and local assisted living/nursing homes. He trains people out of their homes and offices as well as the local YMCA. Rick's mission statement is: "To expand the understanding of physical fitness to the general public and to instill in all my clients the desire as well as the ability to take care of their primary asset — their health."

Juice Fasting and Raw Foods
