Don’t keep food lying around that’s only going to tempt you. Instead, stock your cupboards and fridge with healthy foods that you can grab when cravings start. An Accident or Injury
Recovering from an accident or injury could mean you have to take a break from your exercise regime, or worse still that you’re confined to bed rest for the weeks or months it takes to recover. Be careful not to injure yourself when you’re exercising, as this will blow your chances of success in the long run.
Having to take a break from your fitness regime can be disappointing, but it’s crucial that you rest your body when it’s under strain. There will be plenty of time to up your game when you are fully recovered.
It’s important to remember that an injury will cost you more than just your fitness goals. Skipping meals may sound like a great idea to lose weight quickly, but in reality, it’s unsustainable. When your body is starved of food for an extended period, your metabolism slows down to conserve energy, so eating too few calories can have the opposite effect on your weight in the long term. Plus, you’re more likely to cave in and binge when you’re hungry, so don’t give deprive yourself. Instead, eat five to six small meals throughout the day and make sure they’re filling so you won’t snack in-between.
